If you have little to do with maths and the acronym RPN means nothing to you, then you don’t need Doug Bell’s rpCalc application. But if you’re into maths and you know that RPN stands for Reverse Polish notation, then you’re very well advised to give rpCalc a try. It is a free RPN calculator that is available for Windows and Linux.

Focusing on Windows alone, I want to bring up the fact that installing rpCalc on a Windows PC is an effortless task. If you go and check out the Quick Look video that accompanies this article, you’ll see just how easy it is to install this Reverse Polish notation calculator.

These articles must follow a certain structure and this is the paragraph where I’m supposed to focus on the interface. The thing is that rpCalc’s interface is precisely what you would expect from a calculator. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, I’m going to end this paragraph by inviting you to go take a look at the rpCalc screenshots.

And now, a quick look at the features that rpCalc puts at your disposal: it’s a calculator that uses Reverse Polish notation (RPN); you can use the mouse or the keyboard to input numbers, operators or commands; in a separate window, you can view the RPN registers, a history of all your recent calculations, and the contents of the memory registers; there’s a separate window that converts to and from other number bases; and more.

If you need help using rpCalc, go to the Help menu and open the rpCalc README File. Or go to this How to Use page on rpCalc’s official website.

rpCalc is free software released under a GNU General Public License.

Stop looking for a free Reverse Polish notation (RPN) calculator, because you’ve just found a very good one: rpCalc!
